I am participating in the 2025 Defeat Multiple Myeloma Run/Walk on Sunday, June 29 in honor of dear friend Chris Beebe who lost his battle with MM after 9.5 years. Chris is my hero. His courage, dedication to finding a cure, encouragement and support to me and my fellow MMFighters is what sustained so many of us for many years. He is already deeply missed. Our prayers go to his amazing wife and partner in this fight Jingdai and his daughters. Each donation plays a part in bringing myeloma treatment options to patients faster and helping fund research to find a cure for this cancer. Together, we are building community, supporting survivors, remembering loved ones lost, and funding research that is giving new hope to patients. We are committed, we are strong, and our impact has been and can be enormous.

What is Multiple Myeloma?
Multiple Myeloma is a cancer of plasma cells found in bone marrow. Normal plasma cells help the immune system fight disease, but when plasma cells become cancerous they grow out of control and can produce a tumor called a plasmacytoma. If someone has more than one plasmacytoma, they have multiple myeloma.
Why support this event?
Defeat Multiple Myeloma’s mission is to raise awareness of multiple myeloma while supporting research that seeks to discover new treatments, improve the quality of life for myeloma patients, and ultimately find a cure for this devastating form of cancer. Funds from the 2024 Defeat Multiple Myeloma event will continue to support immunotherapy research and clinical trials at Fred Hutch which are using CAR-T cells and have shown very promising early results for patients.
