Stephanie was diagnosed with epithelioid sarcoma in March of 2024. This is an extremely rare form of cancer—sarcoma accounts for 1% of all adult cancer diagnoses, and epithelioid sarcoma accounts for just 1% of that 1%. After many MRIs, CT scans, and PET scans, Stephanie received radiation treatment for 5 weeks every single day. In July of 2024 she underwent major surgery which included a tumor resection and skin flap procedure. During the surgery, her doctors were able to get clean margins, and she now has scans (MRI and CT) every 3 months to closely monitor for any potential recurrence.
