My story starts 5 years ago when I was having headaches and vision problems. Ultimately, I was diagnosed with MULTIPLE MENINGIOMA TUMORS. While these are some of the more common tumors to have - having multiple ones is rare! I had 4. One was successfully removed. These tumors are non-cancerous and there is no sure answer as to why I have them. Then just last year my cousin was diagnosed with an aggressive cancerous brain tumor. It was successfully removed and she is doing awesome!!!
We don't have answers as to the why we have these tumors so when my cousin was given information about this this race and told me, I just knew this was something I needed to be a part of!!
Strain for the Brain is an annual event held to honor individuals diagnosed with a brain tumor and to celebrate the family and friends there to support them. Brain tumors are a devastating disease that affects 80,000 people and their families each year. The funds raised through Strain for the Brain will directly contribute to advancements in research, medical treatments, and support programs for individuals and families impacted by this life-changing condition.
Please consider joining the race or donating and helping a cause that hits home so personally with me.
