The Helvetia Public Library was established as an "outpost" library in 1984 to serve the residents of Middle Fork District in Randolph County, West Virginia. The library is designed to blend in with the rustic aesthetics of the little Swiss village. It is situated in the "Historic Square" alongside other historic buildings such as the museum, log school, and gazebo.
Don't let our modest size of approximately 1,000 sq-ft fool you. The Helvetia Public Library is a powerhouse of essential services for our community, which is predominantly of Swiss heritage and boasts a diverse range of readers. Despite our size, we've seen a significant increase in usage in recent years, a testament to the value our services bring. We're proud to offer multiple computer workstations and WiFi access, which have proven to be invaluable resources for Pickens School children, aiding them in their homework assignments.
