I am raising money and running this race in memory of my sister, Melissa Renegar. Melissa was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic colon cancer at age 31. She fought for 2 hard and long years with a sweet smile on her face.
Funds raised are for Hitting Cancer Below the Belt (HCB2) who fund colorectal cancer screening programs for medical clinics and provide educational services to individuals, groups, and corporations for the purpose of defeating colorectal cancer.
Colorectal cancer is the second deadliest cancer in men and women and diagnosis is rising in younger communities. Timely screening and awareness about GI symptoms not to ignore is what saves lives.
