Hey there! On Sunday, May 4, I will be walking to raise awareness and funds for an organization and a community that has a special place in our hearts.
I have been involved with Friendship Circle since my freshman year of high school and It has been one of the highlights of my past three years. I initially became involved with this amazing organization because of the close bond I have with my cousin Joseph. Joe is on the autism spectrum and I have always felt a strong bond with him that has influenced a large part of the person I have become today. Because of this relationship, I knew that Friendship Circle was the organization for me. Through this program I have met so many amazing people and made so many lasting bonds. I love making children feel welcome and happy when they sometimes struggle to find that in other environments. This year, I got to spend most of my time in Friendship Circle with David and it has been amazing. His infectious smile brightens my Sunday and every activity is always a blast. This year I am fundraising on behalf of Team David and Friendship Circle as a whole. Any donation, big or small, would mean the world to this program and me. Thank You!
Friendship Circle of Connecticut works every day to cultivate friendships between kids, teens and young adults with special needs and dedicated teen and young adult volunteers, providing social and recreational opportunities that are otherwise unavailable to individuals with special needs. Hundreds of friendships have been formed and so many lives have been changed for the better because of this beautiful organization.
