Kelsy Oldham Scholarship
Kelsy Oldham was a 13-year-old talented runner and great student who was tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident on her way to compete in the Junior National Olympics in 1997. In her memory, two (2) annual $2,000.00 scholarships have been established, one to a Senior female student and one to a Senior male student.
Those eligible are Seniors in High Schools within the mid-Willamette Valley region who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in academics, leadership, and running. These individuals should be a team player who has participated in either cross-country, track and field, or a running-related activity. They should demonstrate a positive attitude, and perseverance, be a motivator, and have good attendance at their running activities and school.
The Willamette Valley Road Runners has awarded over $30,000 in scholarships through the Kelsy Oldham Memorial Scholarship Fund to over 30 student-athletes since 1997. Donations of any size will help keep this fund alive as it continues to support deserving student-athletes in our area.
Your donation to the fund is optional and will be added to your membership fee. Gold Members will be recognized as those who contribute $100 or more annually to the Kelsy Oldham Memorial Scholarship Fund. The Willamette Valley Road Runners thank you for your generosity.
