THE PROBLEM: ATLANTA IS ONE OF THE TOP 10 CITIES FOR TRAFFICKING IN THE U.S. Over $300 million is spent on illegal sex in Atlanta each year. There is an estimated 24.9 million victims of human trafficking worldwide. Approximately 40% of victims of trafficking are recruited by immediate family members or close family friends. The average age a teen enters the sex trade in the US is 12 to 14 years old. Survivors of sex trafficking suffer from severe physical, emotional, and mental health challenges. Currently, there is a shortage of safe housing and supportive services for trafficked victims.

House of Cherith’s mission is to empower female survivors of sexual abuse, exploitation, and trafficking to Reclaim their dignity and self-worth, Renew their faith in humanity, and Rekindle their passion for a lifetime of success. Women, mothers with children, and girls ages 12-18 are referred to us from desperate situations, suffering physical consequences, mental health disorders, and addictions fueled by the horrors they have experienced.
