Westport United Youth Track & Fitness Program

Open to boys & girls | Geared towards grades 1-8 | All athletic levels are welcome! 

The spring season runs from Sunday, May 4, 2025, through Sunday, June 15, 2025. Meetup times are 11am (until noon) at the Staples High School outdoor track in Westport. Staples High School is located at: 70 North Ave., Westport, CT. 

Discover track and field in our youth program where every young athlete shines! 

The youth athletes will master track and field skills - from sprints and hurdles to long jump and endurance running events. Our program builds coordination, confidence, and strong athletic foundations.

This program develops essential skills across multiple events:

• Sprinting techniques
• Proper hurdle form
• Long jump fundamentals
• Endurance training strategies
• Fundamentals for athletes entering any sport

More than just track and field skills - our program helps young athletes:

• Build whole-body coordination
• Develop athletic confidence
• Create strong fitness foundations
• Coached by Jesse McCray and Dave Wright, Head Coach and Assistant coach of the Staples High School girls indoor and outdoor track teams. 
• Mentored by Nationals-qualified student-athletes from the Fleet Feet Racing team

May: 4,11,18,25
June: 1,8

Time: 11am - 12pm (noon)

Location: Staples High School outdoor track behind the school. Staples High School is located at: 70 North Avenue, Westport, CT.

Cost: $160.00 

Recommended Training Gear:

• Running shoes
• Bottoms: Sweatpants
• Leggings
• Long sleeve tops and/or layers
• Water bottle (clearly marked)

Scheduling Note: All dates are subject to change if they conflict with other school programming.

If there are facility or weather issues, make-up sessions will be scheduled: We will announce when and where.
