THE AMAZING MEALS ON WHEELS RACE

I.          WHAT IS THE AMAZING MEALS ON WHEELS RACE?

            This is a fundraising event inspired by the television show, “The Amazing Race”.   15 teams of 2-3 people will compete in a scavenger hunt style race across Erath County, solving clues and completing challenges.  The team finishing the race with the highest number of points will be the winner.  This is not your typical race so you do not have to be in great physical shape, challenges are designed to test your teamwork and brain power.   

            The race starts and finishes at the HEARSAY WINE BAR, 270 W. College Stephenville, Texas.  The parts of the race will be live streamed as teams compete, thanks to FLIGHT REACH PRODUCTIONS, so bring your family and friends to hangout at THE HEARSAY during the race.  

WE ARE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE WILL HAVE A CASH PRIZE AND A TROPHY FOR THE WINNING TEAM!  

II.        ENTRY INFORMATION

            Anyone 12 years or older can be on a team - teams are limited to 2-3 members.  One vehicle per team is required and at least one member of the team must be an adult (over 21).  $100 entry fee to enter.  Teams can register at racedayeventservices.com or at the Erath County Meals on Wheels Office. All teams must register by November 12, 2020; however, spots are limited and only 15 teams may enter.   Teams must have a team name and are encouraged to have a team T-shirt or costume.   Team Check-In is from 3:15pm-3:45pm and the race starts at 4:00 pm.  All teams’ members must be present and checked-in by 3:45. At 3:45 there will be a race meeting to explain the rules and answer any questions. 

III.       HOW DO I EARN POINTS?

            Teams can earn points in a variety of ways even before you start the race.  Points will be awarded based on the amount of money raised by each team and by how you finish in the race.  Remember the more money you raise the more your help your team and Meals on Wheels of Erath County.  There will be a donation site for each team at racedayeventservices to guide your sponsors to helping you!

MEALS SPONSOR OF THE DAY - 150 PTS
CASE OF ENSURE - 20 PTS
CASE OF GLUCERNA - 30 PTS

Having the best results at pre-determined challenges will result in additional points being added to your score.

IV.       WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO? 

All proceeds from the event goes direct to Meals on Wheels of Erath County, Texas.  Each day approximately 200 nutritious meals are served to elderly homebound clients by a team of community volunteers.  All of our meals offer complex carbohydrates, nutrient-packed vegetables, and healthy proteins. The interaction with volunteers provides participants with an increase in feelings of safety, and reduces feelings of loneliness and isolation among those living alone.   Your support helps ensure that every senior citizen in Erath County who needs a meal gets one!
