Reno AR Trainer

This event, we hope, is the one to put Reno on the map for future races. The Reno AR Trainer will embody some of this area's finest trails and terrain that locals enjoy almost daily. This event will be completely voluntary and at the participant's own risk. We were able to procure a permit to utilize the parks and trailheads necessary for the endeavor. 

This event will be June 14th, 2025, and can be used as a stepping stone of training for the Ranier Raid, hosted by Bend Racing. We'll have an early start with bike staging at around 5:30am then a short race brief at about 6:30. Map hand out will around that time also.

To start, everyone will drop in with packrafts into the Truckee River at Crystal Peak Park and paddle approximately 7 miles to Mayberry Park, then transition to their bikes, taking their boats with them. There's at least one mandatory portage while paddling. 

Be advised, rattlesnakes will be active, so be alert. There will be approximately 7 miles of paddling, 25 miles of biking, and 9 to 12 miles of trekking. It will be a 12 hour event. But nobody is relegated to complete the whole course. Everyone has the option of skipping either one of the trekking portions.

Public restrooms will be accessible,  as the course wanders through some residential and commercial areas.The RD will have cases of water on hand if necessary. 

This event is a completely a self-sufficient course so everyone will take everything with them. No bins at transitions. Donations are highly encouraged. The success of this event will be greatly determined by how many volunteers are willing to help also. We hope to put on a fun and challenging course that can be negotiated by beginners and veterans alike.
