FAQs: The Free 3
The Free 3 includes Rims to River 8K, Rim Runner Mile & Trail Trek 5K.
What's the difference between Rim Runners' Free 3 Race Series and your marquee races (Run! Turkey Run! and Shamrock Run)?
The Free 3 races are smaller and much more laid-back than our marquee races. We developed the Free 3 to provide more, low cost racing opportunities for our members. The races are hand-timed. No bells & whistles. No swag. Just racing and socializing afterwards.
Why isn't RunSignup recognizing my Rim Runners membership?
Please make sure that you are using the same email you used when you registered to be a Yellowstone Rim Runner. Your club membership needs to be current for each race in the series, so RunSignup may prompt you to renew your membership if your current membership expires during the series. For membership renewals, your year membership starts after your current expiration date, so there is no penalty for renewing early. For Family/Household memberships, the primary member must sign up family members for RunSignup to recognize the Rim Runner membership. Can't remember your email or still having problems? Contact us and we'll help you out!
Can I race virtually?
The series is in-person only. To be eligible for the series award, you must race all three races in-person.
Are there aid stations? Bathrooms?
No, please bring your own hydration if you need it. The only race with bathrooms is the Trail Trek at Dover Park.
Can I walk?
Yes! Walkers are always welcome at any Rim Runner event.
Can I bring my dog?
No dogs are allowed at the Rim Runner Mile or the Trail Trek. The track and Dover Park do not allow dogs.
Can I race with a stroller?
The Rims to River 8K is on a paved multi-use path that would be good for strollers. Strollers are not allowed on the race track for the Rim Runner Mile (you can park it on the grass, but can't race with it). The Trail Trek is on single track dirt paths and some mowed fields and would be very difficult for strollers.
