Nature + Nurture for a Cause

The Second Annual Mother’s Day Nature Walk is more than just a walk — it’s a one-of-a-kind experience designed to encourage  moms and families to celebrate the holiday by  immersing themselves in nature. The event highlights the health benefits of walking, fosters connection with loved ones, and offers moments of wellness and relaxation through curated experiences along a scenic trail. Each year, this special event travels to a new location, making it fresh and memorable for families.

Along the walk you’ll encounter heartwarming prompts, poetry, reflection stations, and areas for relaxation, creativity and fun. It's just the atmosphere needed to unwind while creating cherished memories and genuine connections.

By joining, you’ll also help us reach our goal to sponsor 100 moms in need. A portion of all proceeds benefit a local homeless shelter that serves mothers and children in crisis as well as the nation's only meals on wheels program for preschoolers.

The Mission of Yahweh

The Mission of Yahweh is a faith-based shelter that empowers, enriches and restores the lives of homeless women and children, and provides outreach services to communities in need, since 1961.

All donations to The Mission help provide food, shelter, training, transportation and spiritual guidance to homeless women and their children living at The Mission. The Mission also provides community outreach assistance by supplying food, clothing and school supplies for low income families in the neighborhood and surrounding areas of The Mission.

Kids' Meals

Every day in Houston, there are more that 100,000 preschool-aged children, or 1 out of 4 preschool-aged children, who may not know where their next meal is coming from. Harris County has the highest rate of child food insecurity in the nation for highly populated areas, meaning our children have limited or unreliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food.

Kids’ Meals’ mission is to end childhood hunger in Houston by delivering free healthy meals, year-round to the doorsteps of Houston’s hungriest preschool-aged children and through collaboration provide their families with resources to end the cycle of poverty.
