Friday, October 18, 6:00-8:00 at the Fleet Feet tent near the climbing walls at the GO Outside Festival
Saturday, October 19, 8:00-9:00 A.M. at GO Fest’s Race Headquarters just inside the main festival entrance.  

KAPOW! BAM! WOW! Don your capes and be Superheroes for homeless families! HomeTrust Bank presents our annual Superhero Race, a family and dog friendly event in conjunction with Roanoke’s GO Outside Festival. The 5K Runners will having timing chips, but walkers, dogs, strollers, wheelchairs, and kids are all welcome. There’s also a fun run for Little Heroes (ages up to 10) that has them leaping tall buildings and dodging kryptonite! There will be costume prizes for adults, kids, and dogs! Stick around after the race for more outdoor adventures at the GO Outside Festival! Money raised during the Superhero Race will go to Family Promise of Greater Roanoke, whose mission is to empower homeless families with children to achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response.

Prizes will be awarded for:
First - third male and female overall 5K finishers;
First - third male and female age group finishers (13 and younger, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and older);
Best adult superhero costume - Overall;
Best youth superhero costume - Overall;
Most Creative adult superhero costume;
Most Creative youth superhero costume;
Best Classic adult superhero costume;
Best Classic youth superhero costume;
Best Team Theme;
Best Dog Superhero Costume

Free race t-shirts and dog bandanas with your registration!

The Superhero 5K route starts at the GO Outside Festival main entrance located at Rivers Edge Sports Complex at Wiley Drive, follows the Roanoke River Greenway to past Piedmont Park and doubles back to end at the festival site. 

THERE WILL BE PARKING IN THE FREE PARKING GARAGE ON RESERVE AVENUE! Give yourselves time to get to the race site. 

The race will be cancelled in case of inclement weather with dangerous winds, flooding, and/or lightning.
