Race Venue
- Where will be the race be held? On Mt. Brilliant Farm at 3314 Huffman Mill Pike, Lexington, KY 40511. The entrance for race participants is located just beside Lexington Fire Station #19.
- What time do the races start? The 10 Mile and 10K Run/Walk races start at 9:00 am. The 5K will start between 10 and 15 minutes after the 10M & 10K.
- What time should I arrive? The farm gate will be open to participants at 7:30 am. If you need to pick up your race number, please arrive by 8:15 am. Participants should not arrive at the farm before 7:30 a.m.
- Where will I park? Parking will be available in a field just inside the Huffman Mill Pike entrance, near the start/finish line. Parking attendants will direct you once you arrive onsite.
- Are there any restrictions at the race venue? Yes! No pets allowed on the farm. Strollers are welcome on the course. Walkers are welcome for the 5K & 10K but please observe the 15 min/mile pace for the 10 Miler. Please do not smoke while on farm property.
- Can I get inside before the race starts? There is no indoor space at the farm large enough for all participants. Please check local news for the race day forecast and dress accordingly. Parking isn't far from the Start/Finish line.
- Can I jog on the farm before the race? Race participants may warm up in the first 500 feet of the course.
Race Registration
- When does online registration close? Online registration will be available through race day morning. Please register before leaving for the race.
- Can I register on race day? Yes. Online registration will be available through race day morning. Please register before leaving for the race.
- What do I get for my registration fee? A race number for timing, a race shirt, complimentary post race food & drink and a great feeling of accomplishment for finishing a challenging course! We are working on finisher medals for the 10M and 10K finishers.
- Is there a benefiting charity? Yes! The benefiting charity is Surgery on Sunday, Inc,a local nonprofit that provides outpatient surgeries free of charge to income-eligible, uninsured individuals who do not qualify for federal or state assistance.
- Can I get a refund of my registration fee? Sorry. Registration fees are non-refundable.
- Can I transfer my registration to a friend? Contact the race director for instructions on transfers using the Race Contact Info function on the Race Info page.
Race Participation
- When can I get my race shirt and race number? Early packet pickup will be available on Friday, March 29th from 1:00 to 6:00 pm at the Surgery on Sunday office at 1594 Harrodsburg Road. Race day packet pickup will be from 7:30-8:45 am on site near the start/finish line.
- Can I view a course map? Yes. Click here to view the course maps.
- Is the course totally on paved/hard surfaces? Yes! The course is on the service roads on the farm property.
- What should I know about the course? This course is beautiful, but it does have several turns. Be sure to spend a few minutes reviewing your course map before the race. The course will be marked with directional signage at all turns and race specific information will be added to keep runners on the correct route. Please follow the instructions of the course marshals who will be present at complex turns.

- The 10-mile course has a loop that runners will complete twice. Each 10 Mile runner is responsible for counting their loops.
- The 10K course is contained within the 10-mile course.
- The 5K course is an out & back design using the first 1.55 miles of the shared courses.
- Will water/aid stations be placed on the course? Yes! There will be water/aid stations on all courses and participants will pass them multiple times. Check out the course maps for locations. Please go to one of these stations if you feel you need medical assistance.
- Will portable toilets be placed on the course? Yes! Portable toilets will be located near the start/finish line, opposite packet pick-up, and additional units will be out on the course.
- Will food or drink be available before the race? No. Please bring your own pre-race food and drinks to prepare for the race.
- Will food or drink be available after the race? Yes! We are planning to provide a complimentary lunch to all runners. Runners will be served first. Food for guests will be based on availability after runners have been served.
- Is the course suitable for strollers? Strollers are welcome on the course. Please start in the back of the race pack and observe the 15 min/mile pace for the 10 Miler.
- Can I walk either race? Walkers are welcome for the 5K & 10K but please observe the 15 min/mile pace for the 10 Miler.
- Can I bring my dog/pet? No. Please do not bring any pets to the farm.
- Are there other restrictions? Yes! Please do not bring any pets to the farm. Walkers are welcome for the 10K but please observe the 15 min/mile pace for the 10 Miler. Please do not smoke while on farm property.
- What is the severe weather plan? If the forecast shows potential severe weather, you will receive a notice by 6:00 PM on the Thursday before the race fate. A final decision will be made by noon on the Friday before the race date, and you will be alerted via e-mail regarding the status of the race. The race start time will not be delayed past 9:00 am on race day. If cancellation is necessary, the race will not be rescheduled.
Race Timing/Awards/Results
- Will the race be timed? Yes, both races will be "chip" timed.
- Will awards be presented after the race? Yes, there will be awards following the race.
- NOTE: The award structure below is under review and may change.
- The 5K overall awards will be presented as soon as possible to the top 3 male & female finishers
- The 10K overall awards will be presented as soon as possible to the top 3 male & female finishers
- The 10 Miler awards will be presented at 11:00 am.
- Overall and age group finishers awards will be presented to the appropriate 10 Mile finishers.
- What are the age divisions?
- NOTE: The award structure below is under review and may change.
- 5K: The top 3 male and female finishers will receive awards. There are no age group awards for the 5K.
- 10 Miler and 10K: The top 3 male and female overall finishers will receive an overall award.
- 10 Miler and 10K: The top male (1) and female (1) finishers in the following age groups will receive an age group award:
- 10 Miler and 10K: 18 & under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over.
