Mountain Bike Leg

Equipment
Helmets are mandatory. Biking gloves are highly recommended. Bikes must be in good condition. Event organizers are not responsible for any belongings left at race sites.
Bike Drop-off
It is recommended that mountain bikes are at the Swift Creek trailhead by 8:30 AM. The pre-race meeting is at 6:30am. If you are a soloist, you will need your bike here before the pre-race meeting. We will have staff on site by 5:45am to keep an eye on your bikes!
Directions
From Whitefish, head North on Baker Ave over the viaduct. Continue on Wisconsin Ave. Wisconsin Ave turns into East Lakeshore Dr. Avoid Upper Whitefish Road (open gated road) by vearing left on Delrey Road. Turn left into Swift Creek trailhead.
The Course
Two clockwise loops starting at Swift Creek trailhead. Single track will bring you to Smith Lake. Then follow dirt road back down to East Lakeshore drive. You will continue back to Swift Creek trailhead by road before repeating the route.
Parking
Park on the side of the road outside of the entrance to Swift Creek trailhead.
Pre-race Meeting
There will be a pre-race meeting at 6:30 AM at City Beach for all competitors. The meeting will provide participants with the most up-to-date information on the race course and a review of all safety precautions. IT IS MANDATORY FOR All PARTICIPANTS TO ATTEND THIS MEETING. The buses leave at 7am and The Glacier Challenge begins with the 8 mile run leg at 8:00 AM.
Timing
It is important for all participants to have their race bib visible for timekeepers to see. The timing chip is afixed to the bib so the bib needs to be visible on the front of your shirt. Do not crumple the bib. You should only cross a timing mat when finishing a leg.
